We offer wonderfully touchable textiles
in a wide range of colors, textures, fibers and patterns.
Washable fabrics do not require the use of chemical drycleaning products to be
kept clean: mild soap in cool water will remove dirt , lint,
dander and other allergens more effectively, without leaving toxic residues.
Our product line reflects our ongoing commitment to offer beautiful and durable
products which are made of fibers farmed sustainably and processed and
woven in an environmentally-friendly manner. As the demand for these
"green" textiles increases, more choices are becoming available,
and the meaning behind the various certifications applicable
to the cultivating, processing, weaving, dying, and distributing
eco-friendly products is becoming more widely understood.
It is our
goal to provide clear, honest, and meaningful data to our customers; we ask
our suppliers to provide us with documentation to support all "green
product" definitions we apply to our products.
SUMMERHOUSEGREEN is our eco-friendly range of products
Certainly there are many degrees of sustainability. We offer a range, and try to describe them as correctly and clearly as possible on our website.

Sustainability DOES make a difference
Rustica Stonewashed Hemp
unbleached - undyed-
in the HEMP & SILK GALLERY
Farming hemp is far more sustainable than farming cotton:
requires less water and fewer nutrients from the soil to produce fiber.
The Summerhouse office and shipping facility is powered exclusively with renewable power: solar is our primary source of power, and we harness the wind as the storms blow in - with the windmill pictured on this website. All packaging materials are reused or recycled.
We are committed to be part of the solution.
